K Series – Rotary Table Shot Blasting Machine
Rotary table shot blasters are designed for batch cleaning and peening of individual workpiece or small set of parts varying in dimensions and shapes.
They can be used for shot blasting of castings, forgings, pressed parts, parts made of steel or non-ferrous metals and parts made of fragile materials.
This machine is specially designed for small or large series, or single parts production because it does not allow continuous flow process.
K Series shot blasters come in different work capacities and configurations based on the process requirements. The basic system has a table inside the blasting area with wide-opening doors to allow fast and simple loading/unloading. Standard systems come with a table ranging from 25″ to 95″ and can process workpieces up to 60″ high. Taller work zones are available upon request.
For handling heavier parts, different configurations can be made:
- Wide opening doors with enclosed roof and crane slot allow parts to be loaded/unloaded with a hoist or a lift truck;
- Table mounted on the door that slides out of the machine to allow parts to be loaded with material handling devices;
- Dual swing table with two self-sealing doors with a table on each, which allow to simultaneously shot blast one set of parts, while loading/unloading another set on the other table standing outside of the machine.
- Table on rail that slides in/out of the machine and roll-up doors to allow very heavy and oversized parts to be loaded within the blasting area.
The number of blast wheels, horsepower, and location of blast wheels, the machine’s size, the diameter of the rotating table, and the frequency regulation of blast wheels are all determined as per the customer’s specifications and needs.
How it Works
Parts are loaded on a rotating mesh table to allow abrasive media to fall through. The rotating table is motorized with adjustment speed for optimal exposure to the blast stream.
Depending on the machine configuration, the table can be located inside the machine, mounted on the product loading door for easier access with lift truck and hoist, or on a rail cart that slides in and out the blasting area on larger machines.
As the parts rotate on the motorized table, they are exposed to the abrasive propelled by the ir [email protected] multi-option blast wheels ranging from 5.5 to 30 kW, providing efficient shot blasting and quick results.
Abrasive media reclaiming system
After use, residual abrasive media falls down the bottom of the blasting chamber, where it is conveyed by screw conveyors and a bucket elevator to an automatic media cleaner.
The abrasive reclaimer provides continuous handling and recycling of abrasive media based on particle size in order to maintain optimal and consistent quality blasting.
For heavily regulated applications, a magnetic and/or vibratory particle separator can be added to precisely sort the abrasive shots based on their size and density.
All shot blasters are equipped with PLC, display, timer, automatic or manual mode, automatic start-up of the blast wheels, working-hours counter, and other basic features.
Blast wheels and blasting chamber inner walls are protected by wear-resistant shields made from manganese steel liners for extremely long service life.
Blast wheels can be equipped with a frequency drive and ir [email protected] valve to precisely control the flow of media for optimal results.
