GPP Series – Continuous Tumble Belt Blast Machine

Continuous tumble belt blast machines are designed for mass production of medium-to-large parts with demanding geometry, and which can withstand part-on-part friction. Parts can weight from a few grams up to 50 kg.

These machines are suitable for automated production plant where parts can be continuously loaded manually or automatically by the means of loading/unloading conveyors.

The key benefit of this design over conventional batch tumbler belt shot blasters is there is no major high drop, which could damage the workpieces. Also, the fact that the workpieces travel, rotate, move slowly, and come into friction with one another as they are blasted result in a more effective cleaning process.

The quality of blasting is also better than traditional batch tumble belt machines or spinner hangers while being more energy efficient (up to 50-80% more compared to spinner hangers). The reason is that the distance between blast wheels and work pieces if shorter, enabling optimal use of blasting energy with very little energy losses compared to these conventional machines.

How it works

Parts are loaded inside the blasting area on an endless caterpillar belt that move and rotate parts as they travel through blast stream. The design of the caterpillar belt ensures parts are evenly blasted on all surfaces before they exit the chamber.

The caterpillar tracks are composed of polyurethane lamellas made of a steel core and polyurethane coating, which ensure gentle rolling of workpieces as they travel through the blasting chamber. Polyurethane lamellas can be easily pulled out of the machine for ease of maintenance.

Abrasive media reclaiming system

After use, residual abrasive media falls down the bottom of the blasting chamber, where it is conveyed by screw conveyors and a bucket elevator to an automatic media cleaner.

The abrasive reclaimer provides continuous handling and recycling of abrasive media based on particle size in order to maintain optimal and consistent quality blasting.

For heavily regulated applications, a magnetic and/or vibratory particle separator can be added to precisely sort the abrasive shots based on their size and density.

Standard Features

All shot blasters are equipped with PLC, display, timer, automatic or manual mode, automatic start-up of the blast wheels, working-hours counter, and other basic features.

Blast wheels and blasting chamber inner walls are protected by wear-resistant shields made from manganese steel liners for extremely long service life.

Continuous tumble belt blast machine can be equipped with frequency regulators on the caterpillar unit drive, loading conveyor, and sensors system for blade wear.

Optional Features

Blast wheels can be equipped with a frequency drive and ir sm@rt valve to precisely control the flow of media for optimal results.
